A garbage disposal is a handy kitchen appliance that is installed beneath the sink and is used to grind up food waste. the disposal to avoid clogs and jams. Avoid putting tough or fibrous foods, potato peels, grease and oil, and hard objects like pits down the
disposal. Instead, opt for using your actual garbage can for these items to keep your disposal running smoothly. Coffee grinds, rice, spaghetti, and green leafy vegetables creates problems for the drains. They get past the garbage disposal, however they do not get past the small drains and into the larger drains properly.

Luckily, many common problems with garbage disposals can be easily fixed with a little troubleshooting. The most common issue is a jammed disposal, which can be resolved with a few simple steps. However, it’s important to address the jam promptly and avoid repeatedly restarting the unit, as this can cause damage to the motor and lead to costly repairs or even the need for a new disposal. We recommend trying to use the allen key that came with the unit, there is a small opening at the bottom of the disposal. Twist the allen key back and forth and see if that helps.
