Our Story

Many plumbing companies operate on a franchise model or at a nationwide level. As a homeowner, this means you’re often paying a portion of franchise fees, along with the costs of multi-level management.

The advantage of choosing Precision Plus Plumbing is that you’re working with a “true” local, family-owned business. This ensures personalized service and expertise without the extra overhead costs that larger companies pass on to their customers.

What sets Precision Plus apart is that we’re the only plumbing company with a Licensed Master Plumber on staff full-time, along with a dedicated water damage restoration department. For gas pipe repair specifically, this combination matters: most plumbers leave you with a hole in the drywall and a contractor referral. We repair the pipe AND restore the wall, ceiling, or floor – same company, same warranty, same week.

Why Precision Plus

Why Chester County Homeowners Choose Us Over Franchise Plumbers

Many plumbing companies operate as franchises. As a homeowner, you end up paying for their franchise fees, multi-level management, and corporate marketing — on top of the repair.

Precision Plus is different. We’re a local, family-owned business. No franchise overhead. No call center dispatching a random technician. When you call us, you get a master plumber who has repaired gas piping in Chester County homes for 25+ years and knows the difference between an honest section repair and a “you need a full repipe” upsell

What makes us truly unique: We’re the only plumbing company with a Licensed Master Plumber and a Water Damage Restoration department under one roof. Gas pipe repair almost always means opening a wall, floor, or ceiling. Most plumbers leave you with the hole. We close it back up — drywall, paint, tile, or flooring — and warranty the whole job. One company, one call.

Every repair includes a FREE pressure test + written certificate of repair ($149 value) — the documentation that satisfies inspectors, insurance carriers, and future buyers.

Local Expertise

Different Homes. Different Problems.

Real gas pipe repair scenarios our technicians handle across Chester County — because every community has different housing stock, different pipe materials, and different access challenges.

West Chester

19380, 19382

→ PARTIAL & FULL REPIPES ON HISTORIC HOMES

West Chester’s Victorian and Federal-era homes typically have original black iron gas piping that’s now 80-100 years old. By the time pinhole leaks start showing up at threaded joints, scale and corrosion are usually advanced enough that section repairs are short-term fixes at best. We assess each branch honestly – replacing only what needs replacement, not upselling a full repipe when it isn’t justified – and rebuild with new black iron or, where appropriate, CSST. We work around plaster walls, original moldings, and finished basements with care, and our restoration team puts everything back the way we found it.

Phoenixville

19460

→ LIMITED-ACCESS REPAIRS IN CONVERTED LOFTS

Phoenixville’s converted mill and factory buildings are a special case – gas branches snake through walls that weren’t designed for residential gas, and access to a damaged section often means opening shared chases or coordinating with neighbors. We map the run, plan the access points to minimize demolition, repair to code, and restore the openings. For condo associations, we handle the documentation and inspector coordination so the unit owner isn’t navigating the bylaws on their own.

Coatesville

19320

→ UNDERGROUND YARD LINE REPLACEMENTS

Coatesville’s older neighborhoods have customer-side steel underground service lines from the 1950s-1970s that are corroding from the outside in. Once these fail, you’re not patching them – you’re replacing the run from the meter to the home in poly with proper tracer wire to current code. We coordinate the PECO meter shutoff, mark utilities, excavate (or directional bore where the yard demands it), install the new line, pressure-test, and restore the yard. Most yard line replacements are done in 1-2 days with gas service back the same day we finish.

Downingtown

19335

→ RENOVATION-DRIVEN PIPE RELOCATION & EXTENSIONS

Downingtown’s active renovation market means we frequently relocate or extend gas runs – kitchen islands moving the range hookup, basement finishes burying old branches that need to be properly capped or rerouted, additions requiring a new feed for a fireplace or outdoor kitchen. We sequence the work with your contractor, pull the permit, do the gas work to IFGC code, pressure-test before drywall closes, and meet the township inspector. No surprises at final inspection.

Exton / Malvern

19341 , 19355

→ CSST PUNCTURE REPAIR & BONDING CORRECTION

Exton and Malvern’s newer executive homes use CSST (corrugated stainless steel tubing), which is fast and flexible but vulnerable to puncture from drywall screws, rodent activity, and lightning-strike arc damage when the system isn’t properly bonded. We isolate the damaged section, replace the run with a same-manufacturer connection per the listing, verify and correct CSST bonding to the home’s grounding electrode, document the bonding photographically (insurance carriers want this), and pressure-test.

Kennett Square

19348

→ CONVERSION DEFECT REPAIR & APPLIANCE FITTING REPLACEMENT

Kennett Square and southern Chester County have many homes converted from propane to PECO natural gas over the past 20 years. Conversions done quickly often left orifices, regulators, and appliance fittings sized incorrectly – creating slow leaks at burner assemblies, incomplete combustion, or improperly seated unions at the appliance. We identify the conversion defects, replace the affected fittings with correctly-sized natural-gas-rated parts, verify combustion at the flue, and test CO levels. Often the “leak” you’ve been chasing for years gets resolved in a single visit.

Our Process

From Damaged Pipe to Repaired, Tested, Restored.

Six steps. Honest scope. No second-guessing.

1

You Call. We Diagnose Same Day.

Call (484) 436-4190. Tell us what you know - visible damage, failed test, contractor strike, inspector flag, or just an aging system you want to address. We dispatch a master plumber the same day in most cases, with the materials most likely needed for your housing type already on the truck.

2

Honest Scope of Repair

We trace the affected branch, identify exactly what needs replacement versus what's still sound, and explain it in plain terms with photos. We don't upsell repipes when section work is appropriate - and we don't patch corroded systems that should be replaced. The scope is the scope.

3

Written Estimate & Permit Coordination

You get a written estimate listing materials, scope, timeline, and any permit fees before we begin. If a township permit is required (most repairs need one), we pull it. If PECO needs to shut off the meter, we coordinate it. You don't navigate the township or PECO on your own.

4

Code-Compliant Repair

Black iron, CSST, flex connectors, valves, regulators, sediment traps, underground poly with tracer wire - all listed materials, installed to PA UCC and IFGC code. Every repair gets the right materials for the application, not whatever's quickest.

5

Pressure Test & Safety Verification

Mandatory pressure test on every repair, held to code (typically 3 PSI for 10+ minutes, longer for larger systems). We verify combustion on every gas appliance, test CO levels, confirm proper draft, and document the test on a written certificate of repair you keep for your records.

6

Restoration & Sign-Off

This is where we're different. The wall, floor, or ceiling we opened to access the pipe? We close it back up - drywall, mud, sand, paint, tile, or flooring - through our restoration department. You sign off when the home looks like we were never there. Every repair backed by our 1-year warranty on parts and labor.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything Chester County homeowners ask before scheduling a gas pipe repair.

Should I repair just the damaged section or repipe the whole house?

Honest answer: it depends on the age, material, and condition of the rest of the system. If you have a single failure on otherwise sound piping (a damaged flex connector, a contractor-struck section of newer black iron, a punctured CSST run), section repair is the right call. If you have 80-year-old galvanized or original black iron showing scale and corrosion at multiple joints, repeated section repairs become a bad investment – full or partial repipe is more economical over a 5-year horizon. We’ll show you what we see and recommend the option that’s right for your situation, not ours.

Material depends on the application. Inside the home, we use schedule 40 black iron for most distribution and CSST where flexibility or speed of installation justifies it (with proper bonding to current code). At appliances, we use CSA-listed yellow-coated stainless flex connectors. Underground, we use PE2708 poly with tracer wire. All materials are listed for natural gas service and installed per PA UCC and IFGC code. We don’t use galvanized for new gas work – it’s no longer accepted by code.

Almost always, yes. PA UCC requires a permit and inspection for gas line repair, replacement, or modification – and each Chester County township handles permits slightly differently. As your licensed master plumber, we pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and meet the inspector. You don’t deal with the township at all. The exception is very minor work like flex connector swaps that don’t open the system – we’ll tell you upfront whether your specific job is permit-required.

For most section repairs, gas is off for the duration of the work and pressure test – typically 2-4 hours. For larger jobs (full repipe, underground yard line replacement, multi-day work), we sequence the work to minimize the time without service. For winter projects where heat is a concern, we can often keep heat going by isolating just the affected branch. Your hot water tank, range, and dryer will be down during the work itself, but we time the schedule to minimize disruption.

It depends on the cause. Sudden, accidental damage events – a contractor striking a line, a lightning strike on CSST, a tree-root failure on an underground line, a covered appliance failure – are often covered. Routine corrosion, age-related failure, and code-upgrade work are typically not covered. We document the cause and scope clearly in our written estimate, and we can speak with adjusters from most major Pennsylvania carriers if helpful for the claim.

We do. This is the biggest difference between us and most plumbers. Our restoration department handles drywall, mud, sand, paint, tile, and flooring repairs – through the same warranty as the gas work. You don’t end up calling three contractors to put your home back together. The whole job is included in the written estimate up front.
